My daughter Kaylee and I were at Lake Lanier Islands Waterpark in May, and she began playing with a little girl. I started talking to her mom and found out that she had a 12 yr old who was diagnosed in march with Osteosarcoma, bone cancer. Her daughter was having chemo and was supposed to have surgery June 30th. We exchanged numbers and Amy sent me texts to let me know how Erin was doing.
I thought about this family all the time. I sent her an email to see if she might need some help with something around her house and that I worked at home depot. She said I could come over and see. I did, and realized it needed alot. I took pictures, sat down, and wrote a letter and mailed it to 104.7 The Fish, the Falcons, Frank Blake, CEO of Home Depot, 91.5, and many churches in hope that someone could help this family.
About 6 weeks later I recieved a call from Jeff Kemper, who was a member of 12Stone Church. He began telling me about CIA and how he and Rob Morris were project leaders and were interested in helping Amy and her family. On Oct. 15, 2011, over 40 volunteers from Home Depot, 12Stone Church and the community came together. Home Depot provided some materials to build a new deck in front, a new deck in the back with a ramp, a new sliding door, lumber to fix her floor, new carpet, and a bathtub. WOW, it was totally amazing.

When I think back, it makes more sense why I couldnt stop thinking about Erin and her family. It was the Holy Spirit pressing on my heart. God uses people to help others. He used me to help Amy and her family. What an awesome feeling.
God is so Good.
