Questions To Ask

1. What is one thing that sticks out to you about the talk at PR!ME this week?
2. Why is the shield of faith and the helmet of salvation important in our relationship with God?  What significance are they in areas of protection?
3. What are some of the ‘fiery darts’ the enemy throws at us?  What are some of the ways he tries to get into our minds?
4. Read 2 Corinthians 10:5 together.  What does this passage say to do about our thoughts?
5. Spend the rest of your time praying for God’s shield and helmet to be on you.  Pray that he protects you from the fiery darts and the deception of the enemy.

* THIS Wednesday night, May 16^th, students will have the opportunity to respond to a salvation call at PR!ME. Please take some time to encourage your student to invite as many of their friends as they can. Please be willing to pick them up or take them home if it’s needed.

Parents!

Summer is here. Which means lots of family time… And lots of family time calls for lots of love! So this summer we want to partner with you in helping your family live-out God’s love to each other and beyond! Our summer series, The Movie Crew shows what it looks like when God’s love is lived-out! In the first “scenes” of the series we will be talking about demonstrating love as a key element of who God is and a key reason why Jesus came. Next, we will be learning that returning God’s love means nothing if it isn’t also expressed by loving others. And for our final “scenes”, we will learn what truly loving others looks like—honoring, protecting, sharing, giving, forgiving, letting go of little disagreements, but never letting go of the relationship.

So be sure to check this page every week this summer for creative ways for your family to love each other, those in your world and beyond!

Week 1 – (May 12-19)

The Point: Love is who God is

Bible Verse: “But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:8 NLT

Love is not something God does. Love is who God is. If you want to know who God is, you’ll have to learn about true love. True love can only be found and understood and experienced through a relationship with God. Once we accept God’s love, He will teach us how to love like Him.

Idea: All month long we want your family to show each other how much God loves them by the love you show each other. This week, work together to make a “Props Panel.” It can be a poster on your wall, a decorated mirror (using dry erase markers), or a designated spot on your refrigerator. Whenever you “catch” a member of the family showing God’s love, write them a note giving them props for all to see! By the end of the month your “Props Panel” should be full of love notes, props, and encouragement! Kids can “catch” parents, parents can catch kids and each other.

John C. Maxwell Leadership Center

The Leadership Center is where:

• John C. Maxwell’s global leadership training organization EQUIP will have its headquarters.
• John C. Maxwell will produce his digital leadership library (for business and ministry).
• 12Stone will develop next generation ministry leaders through internship residency^* and cultivate future partnerships for internships across the country.
• 12Stone will conduct ministry leadership coaching.
• 12Stone will partner with Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University and with the Wesleyan Denomination for training present and future pastors.

^*The 12Stone Ministry Internship is patterned after teaching hospitals that provide a residency for learning and growing interns. This leadership residency is designed to give ministry leaders the “live lab” experience they need for future opportunities and challenges they will face.

During June and July many of our incredible children’s ministry volunteers take a few Sundays off for vacations. While they’re away, YOU can make a difference in 12StoneKiDS by stepping into their open spots! This is a great opportunity to give back and serve the people that lead our children week in and week out. Not to mention you get the opportunity to hang out with some really amazing kids and volunteers!

On Wednesday, April 25th, 2012, roughly 400 of the Sugarloaf Campus family gathered together to look toward the future of what God has in store.  Pastor Kevin Myers shared the breath-taking plans for the new campus building and adjoining John Maxwell Leadership Center to be located at the intersection of I=85 and Sugarloaf Parkway.  This facility will be physically striking for all who enter.   Its architecture will pay tribute to the rich heritage on which we stand yet inspire those who pass through its door to new levels of impact in our community and our world.   As Sugarloaf Parkway provides a symbolic in-road to our community and the interstate to the broader world, so the 12Stone Church | Sugarloaf Campus and John Maxwell Leadership Center offer a similar platform for Kingdom influence locally and globally.

However, vision also speaks to seeing the immediate and our gathering gave us the opportunity to do just that.  We celebrated the commitment and passion of our campus volunteers.  Some of the stories highlighted represent the fabric of who we strive to be as a campus.  They include:

• Warrior Attitude – Despite injuring her foot and spending time on crutches, Danielle didn’t miss a week of serving with our Redemptive Arts team!
• Serving Hands –  Doug and Jill, who often are the first and last to leave our property each week as they faithfully lead our set-up and tear down teams.
• Inviting Spirit – The story of Rich and Jodi.  A couple driven by God’s call to reach out to the friends and neighbors.  They not only invite them to 12Stone, but offer transportation when needed.  And God is using their obedience to transform the lives of others, including one family who recently came to Christ at our Sugarloaf Campus!

As Adam and Jessica stated…

“When we heard about the new Sugarloaf campus opening, we knew that we didn’t want to go. We loved Central, and we were comfortable driving the extra 15 minutes there. God had a different plan though. We were called to be there, and to do what little we could to expand the Kingdom. Once we signed up to serve in the greeter team and made the move, we knew that we were there for a purpose….that God desired to reach still more souls.  Souls of our friends, neighbors, and co-workers.  We have felt God moving in that high school, and we are truly honored to participate in the Body there and experience His love flowing thru a high school!  We anticipate the building, but the church is already here!“
